NUTRITIONAL THERAPY

What is Nutritional Therapy?

Nutritional therapy is an evidence-based holistic approach to optimising health potential through personalised nutritional and lifestyle changes. Using a wide range of tools, nutritional therapists assess and identify potential root causes of health concerns. It works on the basis that we are each unique, therefore diet and lifestyle advice is tailored to individual health needs, rather than ‘one size fits all’ models of eating. It focuses on natural unprocessed whole foods, as well as the therapeutic effects of specific foods for particular health concerns.

Nutritional Therapy works well alongside mainstream medical treatment and other complementary healthcare therapies. See Working with Other Complementary Healthcare Therapies.

Why Nutritional Therapy?

Are you feeling overwhelmed and confused by conflicting nutritional advice in the media?

Have you done a lot of your own research, tried different ways of eating, various pills for an ill, but still haven’t seen any real improvement?

Nutritional therapy could help you whether you want to check you’re eating healthily to enhance your health and well-being, or whether you’re feeling tired and want more energy, finding it difficult to lose weight, experiencing digestive problems, or seeking a natural approach to support or prevent a chronic health issue.

Health concerns that Nutritional Therapy supports or helps prevent

I am experienced in a wide range of these health conditions and regularly see clients needing support or wanting to prevent chronic health issues associated with ageing.  See Areas of Interest.

What to expect from Nutritional Therapy

Personalised nutrition is tailored specifically for you, taking into account your health journey, your health goals and dietary preferences. Laboratory testing may be suggested as part of a strategy to assess root causes.  Supplements may be recommended to boost nutritional status or alleviate symptoms.

Is Nutritional Therapy right for you?

Nutritional therapy can enable you to take charge of your health, bringing about life-changing and long-term benefits, but it is not a quick fix or magic pill solution. It requires a willingness to participate actively in embracing and following the recommendations.

In my clinical experience, those motivated to make changes see the best results quickly. However, if change feels overwhelming it is of course possible to make changes incrementally and even small adjustments can quickly lead to improvement.

It is my job to motivate you, which I do by understanding your individual needs, setting achievable and realistic goals, and empowering you through knowledge.
